We believe that students deserve to be excited about the future...

Rainbow Stars is here to equip and empower the next generation of students with education on the bleeding edge of finance, technology, and well-being.

And every student is a star in the making!

They need to be exposed to educational content that allows them to imagine a brighter future. Educators must be empowered to help students explore the potentials of technology, mindfulness, and creativity that expand their spectrum of what they believe is possible. Rainbow Stars is made up of a unique group of educators and experts coming together to create a new kind of elective course for underserved high school students.

Grounded in the belief that an understanding of cryptocurrency, blockchain, and decentralized technologies will give students an undeniable leg up in the future, Rainbow Stars is dedicated to providing an interdisciplinary elective course to inspire and engage high schoolers.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is focused on creative empowerment, crypto & blockchain education, and technology mindfulness. The classes focus on giving students an introduction into how blockchain could impact their lives - whether through financial independence or monetizing their creative ideas. Coursework includes guest lecturers from prominent players in the crypto space, famous NFT artists, game designers, and more... Students will interact with the blockchain by creating their own NFTs and exploring the Metaverse through crypto treasure hunts.

The coursework is made up of 12 unique modules, which can be taken in their entirety as a semester log elective, or condensed into shorter, 6 week introductory courses.

The Situation

Black and Hispanic students lack access to quality arts education when compared to their white peers. Earning an average of 25 - 30% fewer arts credits.

Students with high arts participation and low socioeconomic status have a 4% dropout rate. This number is five times lower than their low socioeconomic status peers. Yet, New York City’s 2021 budget slashes already modest funding for public school arts education by 70%.

The NFT Market, a blockchain powered technology that allows creators to issue and sell unique digital items is expected to grow by $150 billion in the next 4 years.

The Metaverse Market is projected to be worth over $1 trillion by 2030. More people will plug in to live, work, and play online.

The American College Health Association found that 62% of college undergraduates reported overwhelming anxiety. Up 50% from years prior. Many researchers believe that technology use plays a role in these statistics and agree that BIPOC students bear the brunt of this stress.

A 2015 PISA study found that 22% of teens lack a foundation in basic financial skills. And a 2021 study by Greenlight found that nearly 3 out of 4 teens don’t feel confident about their financial literacy.

At Rainbow Stars, we believe that these statistics tell a story.

Students need:

  • More creative outlets that exist offline

  • A deeper understanding of “the future” and how technology can empower them when used intentionally

  • Education that inspires curiosity and independence, guiding them towards attainable success and happiness despite inequality

  • Healthy relationships with technology, and an ability to understand how the digital world can serve them, while also gaining the ability to self regulate and unplug
